Mardi Heli Tour

  Nepal Hiking Team (NHT) organised a private group trekking for 10 of us recently, between 28 May and 6 June. We did the Mardi Himal Trek, which involved 5 days... read more of actual trekking, starting in Phedi to Pothana, Pothana to Forest Camp, Forest Camp to High Camp, High Camp up to the Mardi Himal View Point and back down to Low Camp, and Low Camp down to Sidhing Village. Prior to the trip, Ganga of NHT was extremely helpful and responsive to the numerous emails sent to him. I did not have to wait long before I received answers to all my queries. From the time we were met at the airport at the beginning of the trip and sent back to the airport at the journey's end, we were well taken care of. Raj, our guide during the trek was very accommodating and super friendly. He also took amazing photos. The porters who carried our bags have our gratitude, as they lessened our burden during the trek. We had an amazing trekking experience with an amazing team, and we shall remember this trek for the rest of our lives. Would definitely recommend!

Our guide Pawan, assistant guide Shree Krishna and porters... read more Ramcharan, Santhosh and Lakman were all truly great, caring deeply for each of us in our trekking team. They helped us every step of the way constantly offering us help, guidance and assistance. Pawan, Shree Krishna and Ramcharan were all very experienced and knowledgeable about the Everest Base Camp trek always giving us a lot of background and related information at every turn. Sincerely volunteering help all the time is a rarity and we found it to be abundant with this guiding team. They assisted us every day of this trek in so very many ways and for that I am truly thankful to each of them. Pawan was great as the guide personally making sure each of us is comfortable all the time.
Ganga, the CEO of Nepal Hiking Team took great care in planning and organizing this trek in every detail and that is what made this trek a very memorable experience for us. He even handled some unexpected situations really well and very quickly - assisted by our guide Pawan. Shree Krishna is certified to be a full guide and is ready to take that responsibility. He has very good organizing and communication skills necessary for a guide. And Ramcharan is ready to take on the role of an assistant guide. I strongly recommend and urge Ganga to consider promoting each of them into their new roles soon.

  I did already my third trek with Nepal Hiking Team in December 2022. As with the previous two, the planning and booking with Ganga was very easy. E-Mails were answered... read more very quickly and all my questions were answered. After having done Everest Base Camp and the Ghorepani-Poon Hill trek previously, I chose the less busy region of Langtang valley this time. Nepal Hiking Team prepared a custom 8-day-trek (plus 2 days of driving) in the Langtang valley and including Gosaikunda lake.
My trekking guide Deepak and my porter Rajesh were both very friendly and spoke English well. My guide seemed very knowledgeable of the area and made some small adjustments of the itinerary on the fly (like staying at another village when we arrived at our planned destination early, to make the next day easier). He always made sure I get the best possible room in every guesthouse and I often even had a private bathroom attached to my room. The food on the trek was also very good everywhere.
I have previously trekked in October in Nepal and I was a bit worried that December would be very cold. After having done the trek, I can now say that those worries were not necessary. I actually did not feel like it was colder than in October at all. It was cold at night and in the morning before the sun came up, but that was the same in October. As soon as the sun came out, it was always pretty warm and I had to peel back my layers quite quickly. There was also no snow except for the last few hundred meters before the highest point of the trek. This was also the most challenging part, because the path was quite icy, but it was manageable. The rest of the trek was not difficult for me technically. If you have hiked in the mountains before, you will be fine.
I can fully recommend Nepal Hiking Team for all trekking in Nepal and I will definitely book again with them the next time I will be in the country.

They were... read more able to create interesting 3week combination of trekking and 6000-peaks climbing Ganga (company owner) communicating promptly, welcoming in person and even managed to get us last available seats for a Lukla flight (when others were forced to use jeeps or heli).
